Friday in San Fran

Rob and Meredith outside her door...We got to see Uncle Alan and Aunt Gail this morning, unfortunately my camera was on the fritz until after they left. We had a nice visit and then Meredith helped map out our day in the city. We went to Golden Gate Park and walked around. Here is the flower conservatory:
The bridge in the Japanese Tea Garden:
Japanese Tea Garden...
Then we went to Haight Street and walked around and at Meredith's suggestion, got coffee at People's Cafe near Haight and Ashbury (thanks Meredith, it was great!). Here's some cool houses just off Haight Street:
The crookedest street, Lombard. We drove down and Rob dropped me off to take pictures (along with the other million tourists) and drove around the block. It's hard to get a good picture because the sun was right behind the street, but I had to try. This was one thing I was looking forward to for a long time! I can't imagine what the houses on this block would cost.
Alcatraz: The Rock....a former maximum security prison that was the sole use of this island. It was no longer used after several inmates escaped. Very interesting! I'm learning a lot on this trip...
We left the city and drove down to Sunnyvale to have dinner with my Uncle Dave and Aunt Gabi. Here are her roses....She had so many rose bushes on the property, it was gorgeous!!! We enjoyed a fresh arrangement of them on the dinner table.
Valentine and Rusty...their two siberian huskies who were very playful with each other and really well-behaved around us, I was impressed! They are gorgeous dogs.
Here's Uncle Dave and Aunt Gabi ---This was my first time to see them since I was a very small child, so it felt like the first time for me! We had a wonderful dinner and great conversation.
The meal was wonderful thanks to Aunt Gabi's amazing cooking (she was a caterer, so we were really treated!). What a wonderful time we had together!!! Uncle Dave and Aunt Gabi, you are always welcome at our house in Gaithersburg, we would love to have you anytime! Hopefully we can also come visit you again. Thanks so much for having us!
